Paper Actuators

An experiment to try and actuate paper with magnets! It started with simply drawing a coil with conductive ink, and as shown below it worked pretty well! But the coil is not that easy to draw and the ink was not very conductive when compare to copper, which is a shame because this would have made a nice solution for animating paper origami. That is why we developed the Sticker Actuator which is just 0.2mm thick and can be sticked to paper to animate origami!
